Innovative techniques
GÉNÉRALE DU SOLAIRE’s development strategy is focused on innovation and new technologies related to photovoltaic systems.
Storing energy in order to shave peaks, provide ancillary services or use electricity outside production hours, is the next technology frontier and open significant market perspectives for solar energy. GÉNÉRALE DU SOLAIRE has developed expertise in the field of storage technologies for photovoltaic energy (batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, vanadium, STEP, supercapacitors) as well as in their management in an autonomous system (smart energy systems, production forecasts, balancing…)
GÉNÉRALE DU SOLAIRE’s in-house engineering office also has expertise in preliminary designs for hybrid power plants (coupling a solar installation with diesel generators). Intended to create high capacity isolated grids (several MWp), suc installations allow for a high level of renewable energy penetration into existing grids.
Using these innovative technologies, GÉNÉRALE DU SOLAIRE participates actively to the deployment of systems aimed to improve the integration of photovoltaic energy into small and medium sized isolated grids. GÉNÉRALE DU SOLAIRE’s teams work on solutions aimed at:
- Anticipating intermittent electricity supply;
- Smoothing sharp fluctuations in generation;
- Correcting the physical aspect of networks, etc.
